Information we have on this pistol at this time:

     The pistol appears to have been crafted by Lepage Freres of Paris France, based on the crest marked with the letters L.F. located behind the rear sight (Pic 5). Lepage Freres operated in Liege Belgium and Paris France between 1850 and 1868. The gold script on the barrel (Pic 6) reads "Acier Fondu" indicating the pistol was crafted between 1850 and 1860. The pistol is 1 of a set of 2, ego the number 1 on the frame and barrel (Pic 4). When the .50 Caliber Rifled barrel is removed you find the letters "J N I".

     Due to the outlawing of "dueling", this was referred to as a "bereavement" pistol.  It is our sincere hope that based on the serial number (Pic 5) #1636, we hope we can locate the #2 "Bereavement pistol".

Japanese WWII De-Milled Type 97 Machine Barrel & Receiver Cover. Machine gun was salvaged in mid 1960's from a sunken Japanese Zero airplane on the barrier reef along the Truk Islands. You're looking at a Remington Side By Side Box Lock, Auto Ejectors, Concealed Hammers, Double Triggers, 30" Damascus Steel Barrels (Black Powder Modeling, Left Barrel Has External Ding Seen Only Slightly From In-side), 12 Gauge Shotgun. Remington Model 14 25 Rem Pump Action Rifle. These Rifles were Manufactured between 1912 and 1936. Based on the "C" Prefix on the serial number , C13242, this appears to have been made in 1934. Although this rifle is in excellent working condition and has 70%+ of its original bluing, it does have a few negative things to consider when bidding. The rear Marbles Peep Site was installed in the wood and not the metal. When installed they made tow small wood cracks, Photo # . A Marbles Rear Buckhorn site was also installed on the barrel which left the original dove tail as well as the one for the replacement site, Photo #. There are small cracks on either site of the tang on the lower part of the stock, Photo # , and a chip out of the Buttplate at the toe, Photo #. Where the shell casing head stamp would normally be displayed there is only the hole, Photo # . Besides being a hard to get item, there is an 80% Premium for 25 Remington Caliber Model 14's. British Markings Stamped Over 1913, Remington, US 9-17. Made originally for British Pattern 14 Rifles, the predecessor to the US Model 1917 Rifle. It's reported that when production of the US Model 1917 rifle began some 545,000 bayonets made for the Pattern 1914 were purchased from the British. Does appear to have a weak hammer spring. Serial Number 113143 Indicates This Rifle Was Manufactured in 1896.
